DeWitt Stuckey: California LB Wide Open

DeWitt Stuckey, a linebacker out of Stockton, California, is being recruited by many top schools across the nation. These schools include Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, USC, UCLA, Cal, Nevada, Northwestern, Louisville, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Fresno State, Boise State and Colorado just to name a few of them.

Stuckey, who holds offers from Oregon, Nevada, Northwestern, and San Diego State, says he's talking to UCLA, USC, Boise, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Washington, and Oregon the most. He has already visited UCLA and plans future visits this month to USC, San Diego State, Oregon, and Stanford.

DeWitt is being recruited as a weakside linebacker, although he says he may convert to strong safety at the next level. He reports a 4.65 forty time. Right now, Stuckey says he is wide open and still in the evaluation period of his recruitment, taking in all that the schools interested in him have to offer.

When asked about what he is looking for in a school, here is what he had to say:

"I am looking for a school with a good education, because that will be with me forever. Also, the coaching staff, people involved in the program, playing time-because I don't want to just stand around for four years, I want to get involved, get my hands dirty, and make plays. These are all very important to me."

Stuckey plans to major in business and location will not be a factor in his recruitment, as he plans to look into Georgia Tech.

"Atlanta is like the Hollywood of the East, and I like that. The coaches seem to be real good people. I will definitely give them a hard look." Top Stories
