Harper, who will play some free safety and return punts and kicks in addition to playing running back next season, his working hard with his teammates now to make a run at a state championship this year. He has several other talented teammates who are also checking out some division-one schools. "We're shaping up real good," said Harper. "We've got me and 3 or 4 other great athletes like Marvin Ross, Montel Harris, and Daniel Andrews."
For any schools that want to get involved with Harper, they had better get in line. He has become a hot commodity on the recruiting trail. The following schools are contacting Harper: "Florida, Florida State, UCF, USF, Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, NC State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Georgia," said Harper. "That's about it; that I can think of."
Of the schools pursuing Harper, the following have already extended offers according to Jamie: Florida, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, UCF, Illinois, and Georgia Tech.
Coaches, player chemistry, academics, and playing time are the most important factors for Jamie when he's considering a school. He said he would get a better feel for the team chemistry while taking unofficial visits this summer. Though he's not sure yet on which schools he wants to set up for official visits, he has already unofficially seen FSU and UF.
