"We just drove around campus, ran into some of the players and got to meet the coaches," said Thompson describing his visit to GT. "I talked to the head coach (Chan Gailey). I talked to Coach (Giff) Smith and Coach (John) Bond." Coach Bond, the offensive coordinator, is also the coach who is recruiting Brandon for the Yellow Jackets.
"They took me around campus in a golf cart," said Thompson. "They showed me around. And I want to major in Business Management so they took me to the business facility and showed me around there too."
It was his first time on the Tech campus. How did it go in his words? "I liked it," said Thompson. "It's in Atlanta but then again it's isolated from the city. It's like its own little community."
Brandon bumped into some current and future GT players while on his visit. "Yeah, I met up with some of the recruits and I talked to the defensive end (GT's Michael Johnson)," said Thompson.
With recent visits in the books to Clemson and Georgia Tech, are there any others on the horizon? "Maybe, I really haven't decided yet," said Thompson.
When asked to compare the two visits from this week Brandon said, "They (Clemson) were the first team to offer me and to really notice my talent. So, really I like both schools though, you know."
According to Thompson the following have extended offers to him in addition to the Yellow Jackets: "Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, Duke, USF, UCF, UAB, Miami and that's about it."
"No sir, not really," was Thompson's response when asked if he's narrowed his list to a group of favorites at this point.
Things he's going to consider before narrowing down that list is, "I'm going to take a couple more visits and just how I like the place."
Miami and Alabama were two other schools Brandon indicated he was also interested in visiting. The 6'2", 285-pound defensive tackle says to expect a decision, "Before the season starts."
