"I've visited Vanderbilt, Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama so far this summer," said Jones. As for future visits Jones said, "I'm going to North Carolina and then possibly, maybe other ones. I'm not sure yet."
With new rankings out recently, Jones wasn't sure why he had been moved to a 3-star from 4 previously. Though he didn't want to comment further on that there was a new ranking he was proud to mention. "I just got rated up to the #1 prospect in Tennessee, so that was kind of cool," said Jones.
Being Tennessee's best prospect, is there any particular pull for him to remain in state?
"It's not a huge deal," said Jones. "I wouldn't mind it but I just want to go where I feel most comfortable."
With so many schools hot on his trail, he wasn't ready to narrow his favorites list just yet. "I'm coming out with a list by the end of the summer," said Jones.
Factors he'll consider before making his cuts will include, "the people and where I feel most comfortable," said Jones.
One of the latest teams to offer Barrett was Georgia Tech. About the Yellow Jackets Jones described his relationship with them this way: "Well, I like Georgia Tech, you know, they got in a little late but that's not a big deal really. I've talked to Coach (Jeep) Hunter. I also text Coach (Chan) Gailey sometimes and we have a pretty good relationship."
Jones, the 6'5", 272-pound standout, spends a lot of time on football preparations. "We work out 3 times a week with our team," said Jones. "I also work out 3 more times a week just by myself."
But he's not all business. "I like to have a little fun too," said Jones. Later this summer he said, "I'm going to Destin and I'm also going to Wyoming for vacation."
