Jenkins enjoyed getting to know the coaching staff on his recent visit to South Carolina. The Gamecock coaches talked with him about their offensive system and how he'd fit into it. To summarize the visit Jenkins said, "Overall it was a pretty good experience."
As for the Gators, Jenkins said, "I visited Florida a couple of times – on their Junior Day." He also singled out their wide receivers Coach (Billy Gonzales) as the one coach he's gotten to know best on the recruiting trail. There has been a personal touch to conversations between Jenkins and the Florida coach. "We only talked about personal things – not necessarily about football," said Jenkins.
Looking ahead there are four other schools that can expect A.J. to grace them with his presence on campus sometime this summer. "Georgia Tech, Miami, Illinois, and LSU," were mentioned by Jenkins as the schools he is set to travel to.
The Georgia Tech visit will be for a camp on July 7th. Though he'll be there the same day as the camp, he says he will not participate in the camp. He'll be doing a campus tour and other activities generally done on unofficial visits – though he will likely check out the action on the field at some point.
A.J. got to see the Yellow Jackets on television last season some and was interested in the offense they ran. "I'm very interested in G-Tech right now," said Jenkins. "The system that they ran on TV is pretty interesting."
On the question of naming favorites, Jenkins was not ready to approach that subject now. He did say that if someone would ask him at the end of summer he'd be ready to give his narrowed down list. A.J. said that when he did pare down his list, he'd get it to 3 schools at that time.
