"First I'm going to go to Florida for Friday Night Lights and then I'm going to make my decision after that day which it's probably going to be Georgia Tech," said Jenkins.
He's going to the Florida camp in order to compete with some other prospects he's met on the recruiting trail. "I'm just going out there and compete first and just have fun," said Jenkins. "I would commit sooner or later but I'm going to go there first and try to compete with some athletes first." One name in particular he wants to go against is his buddy, 4-star WR Melvin Ray. "We don't really talk too much trash, we just try to give advice to each other and make each other better," said Jenkins.
Jenkins spoke of his Friday visit to the Tech campus. "I had toured the campus yesterday with Coach (Buddy) Geis," said Jenkins. "We went to the locker room, the weight room, the stadium, and we talked to Coach (Chan) Gailey. It was a nice experience yesterday."
Why would GT and Atlanta be the probable destination for Jenkins? "Just the atmosphere of the city – it's a big town, they're bringing in big-time prospects. I don't want to be the only one trying to change the program, so it's a good thing," said Jenkins. "Last year, they went to the Gator Bowl and so hopefully when my class comes, we can do something bigger than that."
A.J. bonded with fellow recruits Chris Jackson, Steven Sylvester and Sean Renfree over the weekend. "We're trying to get like a little bond," said Jenkins. "We're all going to commit here so we're just trying to get a little friendship going on."
Besides really liking the campus, and fellow recruit, the thing A.J. likes most about GT is, "The coaches, man, they love me, they show me a lot of love… they are very nice people," said Jenkins.
