Karnell wasn't naming a favorites list at this time. "I don't have any at the top right now, just weeding it out, scouting every school," said Hatcher. He did have one school he was sure he wanted to setup an official visit to though, "definitely LSU," said Hatcher. He was a fan of Florida State when growing up but they don't appear to be in the mix for him.
Hatcher said what he's looking for in a school is, "a big city, do I get along with the coaches and do I have a chance at immediate playing time."
The teams that Karnell feels could offer immediate playing time include, "Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami is saying something about that, Auburn – they're telling me about their situation and their roster."
There are a couple of questions schools will have to answer in order to factor into his final list. Hatcher's factors include: "Does the system fit for me? Do the schemes they run fit my style of football?"
Karnell arrived on the Georgia Tech campus around 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon, a day ahead of the camp. Hatcher said about his unofficial visit, "It's a nice campus. We took a tour inside the coaches' offices – it's a big office. They've got the right facilities to make you a good player." He ran into fellow recruit Brandon Thompson while on his visit.
Don't expect an early commitment from Karnell, he's not in a big hurry to announce his choice. "I'm going to ride it all the way out to Signing Day...to pare the list down, probably in August."
He said that ESPN-U wants him to announce on their program.
