Carlton Lewis, a standout safety prospect from St. Augustine High School, is currently holding offers from and considering Wake Forest, South Carolina, South Florida, and Georgia Tech. Recently, his teammate and friend Rashaad Reid made a commitment to Georgia Tech. Reid was recruited as a cornerback. Reid told GoJackets.com that he and Lewis have talked about playing for the same team together in college.

Lewis' reaction on Reid's decision:

"Rashaad was talking about committing to Georgia Tech for awhile before he actually did it. I didn't believe him then he called me right after I did it. He asked me if I was coming with him. We just laughed about it. I was mainly surprised, I didn't think he'd do it that early."

Lewis' on his decision and position with Georgia Tech:

"I'm going to try and wait longer for my decision. I want to see how my season's going and see what happens with that. I don't want to wait too late though, and be a sitting duck. Hopefully, I'll know in September or October. Georgia Tech is telling me that there is an open spot that I could potentially fill. They said I'm their #1 safety on their board, they want me there."

Carlton says that besides the four schools he's considering, he's waiting on Clemson and Florida to see what they do as they've told him they want to see more of him in action during the season.
