The junior is already being recruiting by Division-1 teams around the nation. He has received information from Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Vanderbilt among others. This summer, Taylor visited Alabama and Georgia Tech. Here is what he had to say about each of those trips:
Alabama: "It was a nice place. Alabama was just a one-day camp, so I just did a couple workouts and got to hang with some of the players. I didn't take a tour or anything."
Georgia Tech: "At Tech, I toured the facilities, and all the buildings the players are at. I then watched some game film and highlights from last season, and then finished up watching a practice for about an hour. I liked it. It was nice. The campus was a lot nicer than the city outside of it."
Taylor says he doesn't have a favorite college football team. He just really wants to play. If he makes the NFL, then fine, he says. If not, then he'll become a P.E. teacher.
As for now, Johnstone is having fun with his current season and awaiting offers from schools. Georgia Tech is one of these schools. "If I get an offer from them (Tech), that is definitely one school that I could play for and they would be on top for me," he said.
GoJackets.com will continue to monitor the recruitment of this big OL prospect for the class of 2009.
