He is projected as a linebacker in college, but could also play the fullback position on the next level. Drummond also excels on the field with the track team. As a sophomore, Daniel placed 1st in his regional track competition in the shot put and went on to place in the State Championship. He competes in both shot put and discus.
What schools are interested in Daniel so far in the early part of his recruiting process?
What will Daniel look for in choosing a school?
"I want a good head coach, a good environment, and of course a good school - one that has my intended major which is Business Management."
Drummond camped this summer at Clemson, Auburn, and the Scout Elite 150 camp held at Georgia Tech. In July, he was invited out to Pasadena for a combine at the Rose Bowl where he ran a 4.68 40, benched 185 lbs 28 times, and ran the shuttle in 4.19. He made the All-Combine Team there. This season, he's visited Georgia Tech for a few football games. He says he enjoyed it and will go back to visit again, possibly for their next home games against UNC and Georgia. His father mentioned they really get treated right over at Tech and that it really feels like a family down there.
Look out for Daniel's recruitment to heat up throughout this spring and summer. He has just been invited to the Army All-American Combine in San Antonio, Texas in January.
