Pridemore still committed to Georgia Tech

Just as T.J. Pridemore was heading into a movie, Scout.com got a chance to discuss the recent in-home visit from new Georgia Tech coach, Paul Johnson.

Just as T.J. Pridemore was heading into a movie, Scout.com got a chance to discuss the recent in-home visit from new Georgia Tech coach, Paul Johnson.

T.J., Coach Paul Johnson from Georgia Tech made an in-home visit with you this week. How did that visit go?

"Yes sir, Coach Johnson and Coach Kelly came to pay me a visit. The visit went real well. Coach Johnson is very good person and I liked him. He told me what plans he had for improving Georgia Tech and what he expected from his team."

Did he have anything to say about how he envisioned you at Georgia Tech?

He told me he really liked me as a player and thought I would be a great addition to the team. He said he really wanted me there at Georgia Tech. He told me that the class that is forming is one that he really likes and that players on the team now are ones that really likes too and would like to see me added to them."

Did Coach Johnson have anything to say about who would be your position coach?

"He mentioned that some of the coaches he will have on the staff are still coaching Navy for their bowl game and the rest were coaching Georgia Tech in their bowl game, but that the entire staff would be known after the Georgia Tech bowl game."

So, after this visit are you still committed to Georgia Tech?

"Yes sir, I am although some schools are still calling me."

Which ones are calling you the most?

"Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, and South Florida all have called in the past couple of weeks."

How does that affect your commitment to Georgia Tech?

"I am still committed to Georgia Tech, but I will listen to what they have to say. You never totally close all doors, so I will listen."

I'm sure you know that Jaybo Shaw committed to Georgia Tech a couple of days ago. Does that make your commitment to Georgia Tech stronger since you two are good friends?

"Jaybo called me a couple of days before he actually committed to Tech and told me he was going there. It will play a big part in me staying there since he is going there too."

So are you going to visit any schools?

"Yes sir. I am going to Florida on January 11th and Georgia Tech on January 18th and those are the only two I will visit. I will know for certain after those visits if my decision to be a Georgia Tech commitment is the right one."

T.J. Pridemore is a very well spoken young man and after talking with him, I feel that Georgia Tech will be the place he ends up but like all people he wants to be sure since some changes at Georgia Tech were made since he announced his commitment to the Yellow Jackets. We have set up two more times to talk, one after each visit he makes in January.
