Scout.com spoke on Sunday night with Saint Augustine, FL defensive back Rashaad Reid. There have been rumors that he was looking elsewhere after committing to the Yellow Jackets back in November of 2007. Rashaad put those rumors to rest.

Rashaad, how is the recruiting coming along for you?

"It's real good. I picked up an offer from West Virginia today."

What other schools are looking at you right now?

"I am hearing a lot from Arkansas, North Carolina State, South Florida, and of course West Virginia."

Well, lets get right to the point. Are you still 100% committed to Georgia Tech?

"Yes sir, I am very much committed to Georgia Tech."

There have been rumors that you will de-commit from the Yellow Jackets and open up your recruiting once again. Is this true?

"No sir, not at all. If signing day was today, I would sign with Georgia Tech. That rumor and any like that are completely false. I've talked it over with everyone and feel my decision is the right one and I am happy with it. I am committed to the Yellow Jackets."

Have you had any contact from Georgia Tech's new coach, Paul Johnson?

Yes sir, he was here tonight for a home visit with me."

What did you think of him?

"He's a very good man, real cool. I think he is an alright guy."

How would you compare him to Coach Gailey?

"They seem a lot alike in the fact they are both up front with you and let you know where you stand with them."

Did Coach Johnson say anything to you about playing right away for Georgia Tech?

"We talked but I know if I apply myself and do the work needed I will be able to see playing time my freshman year."

Since the turnover in the coaching staff, who has been in contact with you the most?

"Coach Kelly has talked to me a lot. I know he is the DB coach and he did a great job with the special teams last year."

Since you play cornerback, do you have a preference as to which one you play?

"I feel that field cornerback is best for me than boundary corner."
