Nick, I understand you made your official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend?
"Yes sir I did. It was a great visit. I really enjoyed it."
Who was your host while you were there?
"Cordero Howard was my host and he was real nice. I liked him a lot."
Demaryius Thomas at Georgia Tech was one of your rival opponents when he played in high school, did you get to talk to him?
"Yes we talked and had some good natured ribbing with one another."
So, what did you do on your visit?
"We toured the campus and saw where all the academic buildings are. Coach (Paul) Johnson showed us how the new offense will work and how a player like me will be part of it. We had some real good meals too."
Did you get a chance to check out the facilities there?
"Yes sir, I did. They were very nice, I really liked them."
What did you think of the campus?
"It's a great campus, right in the middle of Atlanta but you still get the feeling you are in a small town too. I really like that."
Did this visit help you on your decision about your commitment?
"It sealed the deal. I know I made the right decision right now. I am 100% solid to Georgia Tech. I was starting to be bothered by all the distractions (coaching changes, other schools trying to get me look at them) but after this visit and meeting Coach Johnson, I know I made the right decision. I look for little things that are signs and when we were leaving, a yellow jacket landed on our car as I was getting in, that told me right there my decision was right. I am very happy, very relieved and very content on my decision to attend Georgia Tech. I thought it was ironic that it happened and that it happened to show me I made the right choice.
Speaking of Coach Johnson, what was your impression of him when you met him?
"He is a good person, which is important. He's very straight forward and most importantly, I feel extremely comfortable around him. That part was very important."
What do you plan on majoring in when you get to Georgia Tech?
"I will major in Electrical Engineering. I know it is a tough major, but that is my goal and what I want to do. I don't mind hard work whether it's on the football field or in the class room."
Nick and I will talk again to see what he has planned for signing day and how things in general in his life are going. It was like night and day when we talked this time compared to our last talk. Last time, you could tell he was troubled but wanted to stay firm to his decision, but the situation changed on him so he had to do some soul searching. This time, his voice was very up beat and you could tell how happy he was to be a part of Georgia Tech.
