David, have you made any visits to schools for their Junior Days?
Which one of those was the better trip for you?
"I really can't say as they were all very good. I really had an excellent time at each school. I got a chance meet all the coaches at all three schools."
Do you have anything lined up before the summer camps start?
"Yes sir I do. I am going to see Georgia Tech practice for a couple of days at the end of March. I also will be taking in Alabama's spring game too."
What summer camps will are you attending?
What teams are recruiting you the hardest right now?
Do you have a favorite of those schools?
"No sir, I can't say that I do. I like them all and I can't see myself saying one school is a leader over the others."
When it comes time to decide on your school, what factors will go into making that decision?
"I have to say that the chance to play as early as I can, maybe as a freshman will be one factor. Other factors will be what kind of fans does the school have and what type of environment the school has will be big ones too. Also, the education I will get will be a factor too. I want to go into Sports Management after college if I don't make it to the next level."
Will the style of play be a factor as in do you have a preference of a pro style offense, or a running offense like the triple option or a west coast style offense?
Well it depends on which school I go to be honest. Some schools are recruiting me as wide receiver, some as a running back, some as a quarterback, and some as an athlete. Georgia Tech is recruiting me as quarterback and they run the triple option offense now and as a quarterback that's the best of both worlds. You have the ball with a chance to run it or throw it. The ball will be in your hands almost 90% of the time and you have an excellent chance of helping your team make a great play. Of course if I go to a school as a wide receiver, I'd prefer a pro style offense."
How does your high school team look for your senior season?
"We only have to replace two starters from last year so we are looking to make a strong run this year. As a team we are thinking state championship. We look very good."
What are your best traits as a player?
"I feel I am a leader on the field. I also feel I have the ability to make a play anytime I have the ball. I always play in the attack mode."
What do you want to improve on before college?
"I want to improve my speed and strength. I feel I can get faster and I plan on hitting the weight room hard to gain strength. I also want to work on my studying. I don't want to get to college and have that shock of harder studying hit me."
When do you feel that you will make a decision on your college?
Well, if you would have asked me last summer I would have said I would want to get the process over with as quickly as I could. Now I feel I will take my time, learn about each school so I can make the best choice. I'll know when the right school comes along though."
How about your parents, do they have a preference of you staying close to home or will they be ones that will be behind you no matter where you go?
"They have told me to make what ever decision feels right for me that they will make the trip to see me play no matter where I go to school. They have been very supportive of me with recruiting."
How about school or city size, do you have preference?
"Location and size of the school isn't that big of a deal to me. I want to go to school to get an education and play football. Outside factors aren't that big of a deal to me."
David is looking at each school in what they are recruiting him for as a player. He doesn't have a preference on a position although he likes the idea of being a quarterback in an option style offense. He just wants to be able to help his team win. He has aspirations of playing in the NFL but wants to get an education that he can use in case that dream doesn't come true. He wants to be successful in what ever life has in store for him.
