Chaun, I understand you have made a decision on which college you will be attending?
"Yes sir I have indeed. I called Coach Monken today and told him I was giving Georgia Tech my verbal commitment. Coach Monken said he was extremely happy that I made the decision."
What made now the time to announce your commitment?
"I felt it was the right time. I knew all along that Georgia Tech was a great place. I like everything about them. The coaches, the campus, and the quality education I will get. It was the right time to let everyone know that I am now a Yellow Jacket. I wanted to end the recruiting process so I can concentrate on my senior year of football and not have any distractions."
What are you going to say to the other schools and head coaches that call you and try to recruit you to their school?
"I will tell them it is too late. I am 100% firm on my commitment to Georgia Tech."
You could tell in our talk that Chaun is very much committed to Georgia Tech. He was firm in his answer and came back with a solid answer about other coaches trying to get him to change his mind. He told me that he was extremely happy and that Coach Monken and Coach Brian Jean-Mary were very pleased to hear he was committing to Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are on a roll with defensive commitments and there might very well be some more in the very near future.
