Mike, what are your measurables?
"I am 6" 3" and weigh 280 pounds and have been timed at 5 flat in the forty.
Do you play both offense and defense?
"Early on I played both sides but I mainly play left guard on the team right now."
I understand you have an interesting story concerning a certain weight machine?
"Yes sir I do (laughing). We have a machine that we use to help linemen work on their blocking called The Attacker. When it was my turn, they had about 650 pounds on it and when I used it I broke it. We just got a new one today."
What schools are looking at you?
Do you have a favorite?
I like Rutgers and Penn State as personal favorites but am open to all schools."
What will be the factors in deciding on a school?
"Academics will be a huge part in my decision. Football will also play a part too. What type of facilities they have as well as the stadium and weight room. I really like hitting the weight room so that will be a part of the equation. Also if I feel comfortable with the people I am around will play a part. Lastly, location will be a factor. I wouldn't mind going down south or out west to play football."
Have you set up any summer camp visits?
"I just received a letter from Penn State today inviting me to their summer camp. I hope to go to the ones at Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and Boston College too."
How about your high school team, I understand your team has a winning streak going?
Yes sir, we have a fifty-five game winning streak going that was started back in 1999 against Ryan. We have gone to and won eight straight Catholic League titles. Each class works hard because there is big pressure on each class to continue the streak."
Mike was a pleasure to interview as he knows what lies ahead of him and is working hard so that he can go to a good school of his choice. He has big plans for the summer and is looking forward to hitting the camps to get more exposure. He played on the same team with Dan Voss of Georgia Tech in 2004 and he has interest in Georgia Tech so there might be another chance to play along side of Dan again.
