Now that the baseball season is over, will you be concentrating on football this summer?

Yes sir, I'll be concentrating 100% on football unless I happen to play in any of the showcase baseball tournaments.

What schools have you heard from this spring?

I've heard from Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, Alabama, Middle Tennessee, Navy and Tennessee. I talked to Coach Paul Johnson at one of Tech's spring practices and Alabama came by our school.

Is it too early to name a favorite out of that group?

Yes sir, I've been so busy with baseball that I haven't had a chance to think about it.

Are you thinking about playing both sports at the next level?

I've thought about it, but I know it will be tough to do. It will be a hard decision to make. I'll have to talk to my parents about that.

Have any of the schools that have contacted you about football also talked to you about baseball?

Today is the first day that they've been allowed to talk to recruits from my class.

Do you feel you're close to getting any offers?

The schools that I've talked to want to see me play this season and also get a closer look at me at their camps.

Are all the schools talking to you looking at you for the same position?

They're all looking at me at the quarterback position. I play both quarterback and defensive back at Landmark.

What camps are you planning on attending?

I'll be at Georgia Tech on the 14th, Furman, and Alabama. I'll also be making some decisons on other camps that I might attend.

What will you be looking at in the school you choose?

The type of program, how I get along with the coaching staff, and academics.

Will distance be a factor in your decision?

I'd like to stay close to home. I'd say the southeast is where I'd like to go to school.

If you played baseball in college, what positon do you prefer?

I'd like to play shortstop.

What did your stats look like this year?

I hit around .520 and had 15 HR's.

With the MLB draft coming up this Thursday, have you had thoughts of your name being called this time next year?

Yes sir, I'd love to play either professional baseball or football after my college career. I was honored to have Braves GM Frank Wren attend some of my games this year.

Tanner's spring has been consumed with baseball so the football recruiting process really hasn't taken off yet. The summer camps he attends and the upcoming football season will help determine what direction his college future takes.
