How Sweet It Is: Georgia Tech Lands 4-Star CB

The rain that hit the Georgia Tech campus Thursday afternoon didn't put a damper on the news that the Tech staff received earlier in the afternoon when Roderick Sweeting committed to Georgia Tech.

Having made up his mind about wanting to end the recruiting process Roderick and family paid a visit to campus prior to practice to let Coach Charles Kelly, Coach Brian Jean Marie and head coach Paul Johnson that he wanted to be a Jacket.

After hearing that his early leader Auburn no longer had an opening, Sweeting knew that Georgia Tech was the place he wanted to go. He flirted briefly with the idea of looking at Georgia but not for long as Georgia Tech became his choice.

When asked if he'll be making any more visits Sweeting stated that the only visits he'll be taking will be to Tech home games. Roderick has already made plans to attend the Jacksonville St. game but hasn't decided on which game he'll take his official visit.

The 6-foot cornerback from Luella High School in Locust Grove, GA was asked if he'll be playing cornerback or safety in college. He responded that it doesn't make a difference to him as long as he gets to play. Roderick was just recently rated the number 9 cornerback in the southeast by Scout.com recruiting analyst Burke Hayes.

Roderick was at practice today with fellow commit Jordan Luallen. Sweeting and Luallen have been keeping in touch prior to his commitment today. Roderick and his family are both happy with the decision they made today.
