Chris Crenshaw puts rumors to rest

Chris Crenshaw, defensive end from Jefferson High School in Louisville, Georgia, talked with Scout.com to let everyone know that his commitment to Georgia Tech is indeed very solid. Chris also talked about how his senior season is progressing.

Chris, there have been rumors that your verbal to Georgia Tech might not be a solid one, is that true?

"No sir, not at all. I am very much committed to Georgia Tech. My verbal is very solid, no truth to those rumors."

Is that a decision you are happy with?

"It is one that I am very happy with, very much so. I am glad to be heading up to Atlanta and playing for Georgia Tech."

What will you tell any other schools that try and recruit you?

"I am going to tell them that I am solid to Georgia Tech and that I am not interested in playing for any other team. I'm firm with my decision."

Who is your recruiting coach at Georgia Tech?

"Well, my recruiting coach and position coach is the same person. Coach Giff Smith is my recruiting coach. I really like him as he is a coach you can relate to and he will get the best out of you on the field."

What about Georgia Tech makes them the right fit for you?

"Well, it is a school that will challenge you both academically and on the football field. I know my degree from Georgia Tech will be one that will mean something and do a lot for me after I graduate. Plus, Georgia Tech always fields a good team on the football field too. Georgia Tech is the best of both worlds in my opinion."

What will you major in when you get to Georgia Tech?

"I plan on entering the Business Management program and getting my Business Management degree. I know Tech has a very good Business School."

How is your high school team doing this year?

"Right now, we are 7-1 and playing Screven County this Friday night. We hope to make a very strong run for the state title in the AA classification."

How about you? How is your season shaping up?

"Right now I have about 55 tackles and 10 sacks."

Chris was very adamant about his commitment to Georgia Tech being solid. He left no doubts about that. He hopes to finish out his high school career on a high note by winning a state title and then heading up to Georgia Tech to take the next step. He chose Tech because they will give him an excellent degree and build him as a football player too.
