Carver High School standout Demond Dennis visited Georgia Tech for their victory over Florida State on Saturday. The running back was there late but still enjoyed his time there, receiving an offer to play for the Yellow Jackets.

"It went good. I came late but someone finally let me in. I caught the 2nd half. They offered me. Coach Buzz Preston let me know."

What was Demond's reaction to the offer?

"I was excited. I knew they would [offer me] though, my coach had already told me."

How has the new offer changed his outlook on recruiting?

"Georgia Tech is number one now since they offered. They are the home school, you know. All my family can come and see me play. Plus, they have good academics."

Any other schools Dennis is hoping he gets an offer from?

"I've been really hoping for any of the Florida schools, like Miami or South Florida. If no one else comes along, one of those schools down there, it'll probably be Georgia Tech."

With Tech in the lead, what about the other schools that have offered Demond?

"I had eight offers before. I wouldn't count out Louisville or Illinois. I still want to take my official visits. Georgia Tech, they're standing out right now."

Are any other schools that haven't offered him been in contact with him?

"West Virginia is sending a lot of mail, but I haven't made any contact with them yet."

What are Demond's plans for making a decision?

"I'll probably make it during the Offense-Defense All-American Game."

The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl will be played on January 2nd. Dennis will play on the East squad.
