Georgia Tech coaches Todd Spencer and Brian Jean-Mary were in Valdosta to visit Georgia Tech commit Tony Foster. Tony had a little something to say about other schools trying to recruit him. Tony was also selected to play in the Offensive-Defensive Bowl to be played in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina. The game and activities will be held December 27th through January 3rd.
I hear that you have some visitors from Georgia Tech for an in home visit?
"Yes sir, I did. Coach Spencer and Coach BJ came by the house and we had a extremely good talk about my play and how much they feel I will be a major contributor to the team as early as my freshman year. They told me that I have the ability with hard work to come in and fight for playing time as a freshman. I plan on doing just that. I want to be able to get out on the field as soon as I can to help my team win. I am looking forward to this."
How did you feel after the visit was over?
"I felt more at home than ever with Georgia Tech. Both coaches made me feel real comfortable and that just reinforces my decision to go to Georgia Tech. I have had a few schools call me and say they will recruit me hard but I am telling them it will not work as I am 100% committed to becoming a Yellow Jacket. I'm going to Georgia Tech no matter what. It's that simple."
What did you think of the game this past Saturday with Georgia?
"I was shocked not the fact that Georgia Tech won, as I had a feeling all along that Tech would win the game, but I was surprised that Tech came out in the 3rd quarter and just took it to Georgia. Basically taking it to them and taking control of the game. I really enjoyed seeing that."
Have you set up your official visit to Georgia Tech?
"Yes sir I have. That visit will happen on the weekend of December 13th. I'll be able to see everything that weekend."
After that, what is on the agenda for you?
"I will be playing in the Offensive-Defensive Bowl being held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. That will be a week long event starting on December 27th and lasting until January 3rd. I'm really looking forward to playing in that game."
Tony and I have set up another time to talk about how his official visit went at Georgia Tech and how he liked the Offensive-Defensive game and activities. In our conversation, you could tell that he is very happy about his decision to go to Georgia Tech and he is telling all the coaches that he isn't changing his mind. This is one decision that is final and very firm. He will come in and not only add depth to the offensive line but will push hard for playing time his freshman year.
