Carl Miles, a cornerback out of Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida, gave his pledge to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets today. Miles was considering offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Troy, Kansas State, FIU, and Pittsburgh until he was invited to visit Georgia Tech for an official visit. On the visit, he received the offer he was wanting.

"I was really considering Kansas State and Troy because they were the first ones interested in me and showing me love. I liked those schools a lot. So it really came down to those two and Georgia Tech."

How was his visit to Atlanta and what made him commit?

"The visit was great. I love the coaches. I love the players. The facilities are really nice and the city is nice. It was good down there. All the other schools basically had all the same stuff. You know, facilities and stuff like that. The thing that set Georgia Tech apart was the academics. That aspect for Tech is great. The area is also good. I just love the coaches there and they are real cool. Tech is where I wanted to go. It fits me."

Tech's coaches intend to use Miles as a cornerback. Miles was able to meet cornerbacks coach Charles Kelly and defensive coordinator Dave Wommack. He said he is excited to get to Atlanta and play for them.

"I am committed to Georgia Tech. My recruiting is over. I'm shutting things down," Miles says. He will sign with Tech on signing day.
