Georgia Tech is making Anthony Williams a big priority for their 2010 recruiting class and they let him know at Junior Day today. Williams was excited to be there and had a good time.
"Junior Day went really good," he said, "They gave me my official offer. I talked with Coach Johnson and the coaches. It was a really good day. We toured the facilities and the dorms. We saw the recreation center and I got to talk with a couple of players. It was a good Junior Day."
What did the coaches have to say to you?
"They told me they really want me. Out of all the positions, they told me I'm a top priority at defensive end. Now, they said it's just my decision if and when I want to commit to them."
Anthony actually stated in the past he might give the Yellow Jackets a commitment at their Junior Day. However, he was going to talk things over with his parents.
What is the current situation when it comes to making a decision?
"I'm still going to wait, just to see what else rolls in. I really like Georgia Tech, I'm very excited to get the offer. But I'm sure I'll get others. I'm really thankful for it, though."
Williams says he plans to attend a Junior Day at Central Florida sometime in February. Also, he will be at Georgia's Junior Day on March 21st. He has been invited to a few others and will make decisions on those later. Anthony currently holds other offers from Stanford and West Virginia.
Basketball season is going on right now and Williams is enjoying it. He says that his Union Grove team had been struggling but they've come together and have started winning some games.
