Cornelius Jones Visits Georgia Tech

Spartanburg High School quarterback Cornelius Jones had already caught the attention of some major schools last year. He is being recruited by Michigan, Georgia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina.

Jones already holds offers from Michigan and Duke. He made a visit this weekend to Atlanta for Georgia Tech's Elite Junior Day.

How was the visit?

"It was pretty good. I enjoyed it," Jones said. "I really liked the campus, the facilities, and the weight room is really good. The weight room was my favorite, it was the best out of all."

Jones had the opportunity to speak with the coaches.

"They told me they had seen my tape and were looking at me. I met Coach Paul Johnson and Coach (Dave) Wommack."

Jones did not come away with an offer from the Yellow Jackets, but that may certainly be a possibility down the road.

Are schools recruiting Cornelius as a quarterback?

"I'm not really sure, I haven't talked with many about that yet. Everybody so far seems to be recruiting me as an athlete."

Jones has one more Junior Day planned. He said he will make a visit to UNC either February 28th or March 28th. He and his coach may make other visits to other schools but as of now none are planned.

"I'm just letting it come as it goes. Whatever I decide, it could be the next couple months or in the next year."
