Connor Shaw - Profile

Did you enjoy your visit this past Wednesday to Georgia Tech?

"Yes sir I did. I got a chance to see Tech beat Miami in basketball and visit my brother Jaybo. I also had a chance to catch up with the Tech coaches. All in all I had a real good time."

What did the coaches have to say to you?

"Well, Coach Monken joked with me that I had to go out for basketball at Tech as they seem to win when I'm there. I had a chance to talk with Coach Johnson, Coach Monken, and Coach Bohannon. They all talked with me about going to other places for visits as it is a good thing so I can get a chance to see other schools and compare them to Tech. They told me that they knew it is exciting to visit new places and felt I owed it to myself to make some visits. They didn't put any pressure on me about my recruitment to Tech. They showed me their recruiting board, where I fit in, and what they felt was the status of their recruiting plans for this year."

Sounds like you have made a real close connection with the Tech coaches?

"Yes sir, I have. I've been around them since my sophomore year and I am very close to the whole staff."

Is there one coach that you feel you have the closest relationship?

"That's a tough question. I'm really close to them all as they are all close to one another themselves. If I had to say just one, it would be Coach Monken. I talk to him every week and he is my recruiting coach there. We've built a real good relationship over these years."

Do you have any coaches from other schools in which you have a good relationship?

"Coach Mangus from South Carolina would be a coach that might come close to the relationships I have built with the Tech coaches."

How many spring games are you going to this year?

"I know I will be attending the ones at Georgia Tech, West Virginia and South Carolina. I will also make some of their practices. Another school I will try and make a trip to see a practice is Wake Forest."

After the spring games, what is on your agenda?

"It will be back to the football field as my high school will have spring practice and workouts and then during the summer we will start practice for the season."

Do you still plan on making your college choice before your senior year?

"Yes sir I really am planning on doing that. I'd like to get it done and concentrate on my senior year."

Dale's Take:

Connor as usual was an extreme pleasure to interview. You can tell that he really enjoys spending time with his brother but he is looking forward to making visits to West Virginia and Wake Forest. It seems Connor has a full grasp on his recruitment and he will make all the visits he needs to make sure his decision is right. Top Stories
