How has your recruiting been coming along the past few weeks?

"I just went to Auburn this past weekend after dropping off my former teammate and future Georgia Tech player, David Sims in Atlanta so he could watch the Yellow Jackets practice this weekend."

How did the trip to Auburn go?

"It went very well. I really like their campus and got to know the coaches real well. I feel they have a very nice campus and some nice facilities. The coaches there are some of the best in the country. I really liked what they had to show me and tell me. I made a real good relationship with them over the weekend."

Did you have a chance to see anything at Georgia Tech when you dropped off David on the way to Auburn?

"Not really, we were there for about 15 to 20 minutes before we had to leave."

Are you and David close friends?

"Yes sir, we are. He is recruiting me to come to Georgia Tech. He keeps on telling me to go ahead and commit so we can play together as teammates. Georgia Tech is one of the schools I am considering along with Auburn so it would be nice to be teammates again. If it happens, it happens."

What schools have offered you?

"North Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and Tennessee are some of the schools that have offered me. I hear from a few more too."

What else do you have planned for the spring?

"I am going to Alabama for their spring game on the 18th of this month and then on the 25th I will go to Georgia for the Nike camp."

Do you have a favorite right now?

"No sir, not at this time. I am really looking at everyone right now. No favorites at this point of my recruitment."

How about a time frame for a decision on you college choice?

"I know when I will announce my decision already. I will decide on signing day. I've told all the coaches at the schools that are recruiting me that's the time I plan on announcing my decision."

What are you looking for in a school?

"I really want to go somewhere that the coaches will really develop me as a player and as a student. I want to improve as a player and want coaches that will push me to be a better player and that care about how I do in the classroom. Someplace that has great surrounding, nice people, and some place I can stay out of trouble."

How do you feel about playing time? Is that a factor?

"Not really. I want to go to a school that will make me earn my spot not one that will say I can play right away and not make me earn it. I don't want playing time handed to me. I have to earn my way onto the field. If I get early playing time then great, but if somebody is better than me, he deserves to play ahead of me. I have to work hard to beat him out."

What do you have planned for the summer?

"I am going to Georgia Tech's summer camp that starts on June 7th I think. I will also go the Verizon Star Camp being held at USC. Another camp I will go to that I know of right now is the one day offensive lineman camp at South Carolina."

Dale's Take:

Eric said he really liked the trip to Auburn and he got a chance to know the coaches better while he was there. He had a chance to see a little bit of Georgia Tech while dropping off his good friend David Sims. He would like to play with David but it is a long ways to go in his recruitment.
