Jon Lee - Profile

Jon, how did the trip for Georgia Tech's spring game go for you?

I had a really good time there on Saturday. I watched the future Jackets run through their offense and defense. I really loved how well they run the ball. I watched games from last season and you can tell from today that they are getting more consistent in their offense and it is coming easier to them. I think they will put up big offensive numbers this year. You can tell the players are really hungry for the season to start and they are ready to improve on last year. The trip was so good that I bought some Georgia Tech memorabilia, like hats and the such."

Did you talk to the coaches any today?

"Yes sir, I did. I talked to them all but I talked with Coach Monken, my recruiting coach, the most. He's a real good guy and I like him a lot. He wants me to stay in touch with them and he said they will stay in constant contact with me too. He is coming to my spring practices which start in three weeks. I like knowing he'll be there."

Which teams are recruiting you right now?

Buffalo is recruiting me hard and they were the first to contact me, but they know I like Georgia Tech a lot. Other teams that are contacting me are Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Purdue, my Dad's alma mater."

Do you have a top five?

"You could say that I do. It would be Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Vandy, and Purdue."

Do you have a time frame for your decision?

"Not really as I plan on making a commitment after the season. I will take all five of my official visits. I want to see who is interested in me the most and when it feels right, I'll make my decision. I just want to be sure as it is an important decision for me at this stage of my life."

What is up next for you?

"I am pretty much through for the spring except for my high school spring practices. In fact, my high school puts on a 7 on 7 skill camp during June so I will take part in that. I plan on being at the camps at Georgia Tech and the National Underclassman Camp held at Lovejoy High School too."

Dale's Take:
While Jon hasn't named a leader in his services, you can tell he is really impressed with Georgia Tech both as school and a football team. However, he knows this decision is very important so he will make all his official visits before making a decision. This might come down to Georgia Tech with Purdue looking in the door too.
