Ohio DB Back from Busy Weekend

Former high school teammate of Maurice Clarett took two trips over the weekend. GoJackets.com had a chance to talk to him about his trips, and find out who is his leader.

Mike Phillips, a 5-11, 180 pound defensive back from Warren, OH had a busy holiday weekend where he visited both Georgia Tech and Michigan State.

"[The Georgia Tech visit] went real good. Reuben [Houston] was my host" he said. "They are recruiting me as either a corner or safety. I'd probably try corner first."

Former high school teammate David Herron was Mike's host on his visit to Michigan State. "Michigan State is recruiting me as a safety."

When asked what he liked the most about the two schools he visited over the weekend, he said "what I like about Georgia Tech is pretty much a chance of playing time. At Michigan State I really liked the people there."

"I plan to make a decision the Saturday before signing day."

So, who is in the lead at this point? "Pittsburgh is still in the lead. Georgia Tech and Michigan State are about even right behind them."

Phillips said if he takes another trip it will probably be to Ohio State.
