Avery Walls - Profile

Did you go to Georgia Tech Saturday for their game with North Carolina?

"Yes sir, I did. It was a last-minute decision for us and we decided to go. I am glad we did as we had a great time."

How was the game on Saturday?

"It was a great time. I had a chance to talk to Coach Brian Jean-Mary, Coach Charles Kelly, and Coach Todd Spencer. I really enjoyed talking with them. I also got a chance see some facilities and experience Yellow Jacket Alley and that was a great experience. I got a real good feel for the school."

What did the coaches have to say to you?

"They showed me everything about Georgia Tech that they could in a short time. They wanted me to enjoy myself and have a real good time which I did. We talked about the athletic and academic possibilities. They also talked about the business school and how good it is. That's the area I want to major in too."

How was the game?

"It was very exciting and the defense showed up and played great."

What else did you do while you were there?

"I got a chance to catch up with my former teammates and friends from Union Grove. I also talked a good bit with Morgan Burnett. He was giving me advice and tips about playing on the collegiate level, which I thought was very cool of him."

How is your recruiting coming along?

"I have picked up an offer from Oklahoma. I also plan on trying to get to games at Florida State, Florida, South Carolina and Duke. I want to return to a game at Georgia Tech, hopefully the game against Georgia."

What are you looking for in a college?

"I want the best fit that I can find that offers me the best fit of college academics and football. I really don't care where the school is as long as I feel like I fit in there and they give me that combination I am looking for in a school."

How is your high school season coming along?

"We went to 4-0 with a big win over Redan, 38-12. Next we have Greenbriar on the road."

Dale's Take:

Avery seems to be the type of recruit that has a solid plan on what he wants to do in his recruiting process. He will use a lot of the information he gets from each school to make his decision. I feel that Avery will be one that will play his recruitment very close to the vest.
