"I am 6' - 195. I have run a 4.48 40 time."

How has your high school has team done so far this year?

"We are 6-0 and looking real good right now. We've played and beat one of our main rivals so far and hope to continue the trend and bring home a state title."

How have you played so far?

"I think I've played pretty well. I have around 870 yards rushing and I am helping the team win which is what we all want."

How about your college recruiting? What teams are you hearing from the most?

"Georgia Tech, Memphis, UAB, Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss are the ones that I hear from the most right now."

Do you have any offers to date?

"No sir, I don't. I feel that the reason I don't is that I played slot and wide receiver last year when Orwin Smith was our running back. This year, I've moved to running back and the coaches and teams are just now getting good film of me at running back. I've been told that the offers will come now that the coaches have film of me as a running back."

What coaches have you talked to lately?

"I talked mostly with Coach Charles Kelly and Coach Paul Johnson from Georgia Tech and Coach James Joseph from Memphis."

Would those two schools be considered your leaders?

"No sir, not at this time. I really want to wait some to see what happens. I'll be setting up official visits and see what is out there before I can name any leaders."

Have you been to any schools or games this year?

"Yes sir, I went to the Georgia Tech game against North Carolina. It was a very good game. Georgia Tech played very well."

What did you think of the visit?

"It was great. At Georgia Tech, everything is very nice. I liked everything about my time down there."

Do you have timetable for when you want to make your college decision?

"I'll probably wait until after the season and the all star games are over. By then I'll have what I need to know and make a good decision."

What are you looking for in a college?

"Mainly I want a school with a good nursing program as I want to be a nurse after college. Also, I want to go to a school with good coaches, ones that I can relate to and ones that will get the best out of me."

Dale's Take:

Deon was not too worried about not having any offers just yet. He knows that playing a new position in his senior year will make coaches wait and see how he does on the field. He understands how the recruiting works. Given his stats so far, I feel that he will be getting those offers very soon. Top Stories
