Talk about the block you threw to spring Allen on his long run.
"It's just my job to get out there and get the defender. I looked at the defense before the play and decided that it was set up right for the play. Everything sort of fell right. It just so happened that I got out there and got on my guys legs."
What was the mindset for the offense when you knew you had to answer back to Florida State scores so many times in the first half?
"We just had to keep playing hard. We knew the defense would pull through we that had to and they did. They came through with some big plays at the end and got the ball back. We'd been talking all week about matching Florida State's intensity so that was the big thing just match their intensity and take care of what we can take care of and let the rest take care of itself."
A lot of you played with injuries tonight. Can you talk a little about that?
"Yeah, we're a little banged up. We play a physical style of ball so we're used to it. This year and last year have been hard on some bodies. I think Cord Howard really stepped up tonight. He was kinda banged up. He stuck it out the whole game and that just speaks to his character and the rest of the team's character."
How much fun was it out there tonight?
"It was a blast. It was a blast. It was one of those nights where you felt you could score at will. Those nights don't come so often."
What did you and the team do during the delay for the threat of lightning?
"We were antsy. We were ready to get out there and get playing. We sat down and went over everything we had done so far. We only had one drive so we didn't have a whole lot to talk about. We tried to relax and stay loose. Some guys got some heat on some injuries that you spoke about. I personally listened to some music. I listened to some of the songs in my I phone."
Coach mentioned that he told you at halftime to come out and play like you were just down 7-0. Did you feel that way?
"Yes sir. Florida State's a good team and they were putting up a lot of points. We felt if we just went out there and played our style of ball and didn't worry about the scoreboard that everything else would take care of itself."
How about the last touchdown?
"It felt great. We had to go down there and put it in to sew the win up We just put our nose to the grindstone and got it done. It was awesome."
Tell what it's like knowing that Josh Nesbitt is going to be running the ball on those big third and fourth down plays.
"I'm so confident and the rest of the line is so confident in Josh. He's a real tough player. We know that he's going to get the job done every time."
