Gaston Talks About Commitment

Joe Gaston accepted a scholarship offer to attend Georgia Tech when coach Tommy Raye visited his school last week. GoJackets.com caught up with him today, and he sounds excited to be a Yellow Jacket.

Joe Gaston, an underpublicized safety from Walton High School in Marietta had a visitor at his school last week, and was very happy to see him.

"Coach Raye stopped by my school last week and offered. I had already decided that I would commit if they offered me a scholarship, so I committed right away" he said.

The Tech coaches had talked about Joe either playing safety or linebacker, and still aren't sure where he will end up. "They're leaning more toward safety right now, but they are going to wait until I get on campus."

Joe is physically ready to step in right away, currently at 6-0 and 203 pounds. With both of the Jackets safeties having graduated, he may get that oppourtunity.
