"Yes sir, I did. We were on a family vacation and I made a visit over to Georgia Tech as they have been recruiting me pretty hard. It was a very good visit that I enjoyed a lot."
Was this visit just a stop by and see the game or did you get to do more than that?
"I got to do almost the whole experience while I was there. I hung out with current Tech commit, Denzel McCoy. He's a great guy and you can tell he really loves Georgia Tech. He had nothing but great things to say about them. I got a chance to meet other recruits and commits while I was there too. I also went down on the field and talked with Coach Johnson and a lot of the other assistant coaches. They have a great staff at Georgia Tech. It was a great experience."
Did this visit with Georgia Tech change you status with Oklahoma?
"I'm still solid with Oklahoma, but I am definitely keeping my options open at this point."
If you were to open up your commitment would Georgia Tech be a school you would be interested in?
"Yes sir, they most definitely would be."
Are there any schools still recruiting you hard despite your commitment to Oklahoma?
"Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan, and Georgia are ones that have kept recruiting me despite my verbal to Oklahoma. Most of if not all of the other schools have pretty much backed off but these four seem to be the ones that are still recruiting me hard today. Like I said before, I am still solid but I am playing it by ear and listening to the advice of my parents and will go from there to see if anything will or can change."
How about your high school team, how are you doing this year?
"Right now we are 8-0 with two regular season games left, and we are #1 in our 4A region. Our offense and defense are both clicking and we are playing great as a team. We are taking it one game at a time and not taking anything for granted as we want to do the best we can for this year. Each game is more important than the last one. We know we are a team that everyone is coming after and we have to come to play each and every week and we will not look ahead of the game in front of us."
Roy was one of those players when you interview you just sit back and enjoy what he has to say. He is very down to earth and knows that it is a team effort his high school being ranked number one. While he is solid to Oklahoma he is keeping the door open just in case he feels he has a better fit at another school. Don't be surprised if he keeps his verbal to Oklahoma but don't be surprised if he changes too. He will listen to the people that matters most in his life and has his best interests at heart.
