Cameron Lynch - "I like Georgia Tech a Lot"

Brookwood High School was eliminated in the second round of the 5-A Georgia State playoffs by Peachtree Ridge, yet can reflect on many positives off which they can build for next season including standout linebacker Cameron Lynch, class of 2011. He talked with about his season and where things stand with his recruitment.

How would you assess your exit from the State playoffs?

"We thought we could make it to the semi-finals, but clearly we were stopped short. I'm kinda disappointed in how things ended, but it was great to knock (undefeated) McEachran out in the first round after they scored 42 points on us (to open the season in the Corky Kell Classic at the Dome)."

How did things go for you personally as the season went along?

"Really good; I was told (by the coaches) I had 19 tackles in the playoff game against Peachtree Ridge and I think they also said I lead the team in tackles."

Are you already thinking about next year?

"Yes sir. We should be very good. Although we lose some key seniors, we have a lot of good returning players and I'm very optimistic. I can't wait to get back in the weight room."

How about your time visiting Tech?

"I went to the North Carolina game and really enjoyed myself. I like Georgia Tech a lot, no doubt and I'm interested in mechanical engineering, so Tech would be a great place to spend my college career. [Ed Note: Lynch has a 1435 SAT score]. I went to football camp there this summer and got to meet some of the coaches including Coach (Paul) Johnson and linebacker Coach (Brian) Jean-Mary."

Have you been to other campuses for games?

"Yes sir, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia."

Do you have any firm offers?

"No sir, but Georgia Tech and Auburn have been recruiting me the hardest---through the mail." Top Stories
