Sterling Bailey Visits Atlanta

Sterling Bailey, the big time defensive end out of East Hall, Georgia was in attendance for Georgia Tech's battle with Georgia last Saturday. He spoke with GoJackets.com about his visit and what's going on with his recruiting.

Who are the schools recruiting you?

"They are Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Western Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Illinois, Syracuse, Indiana, California, Maryland, UCLA, and that's about it."

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?

"Florida, Georgia Tech, and that's about it."

Which ones have offered you so far?

"Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Western Kentucky, and Clemson." You were in attendance for the Georgia-Georgia Tech game. How was that visit?

"It was a very exciting game. I loved the visit. It was very comforting being down there. I got to talk to some of the coaches. I saw the weight room and stuff. That was it."

Have you taken any other visits recently?

"I visited Georgia for the Auburn and Kentucky games. I loved the visits. They were very nice and very comforting."

How about your future plans. Have you been invited to any Junior Days?

"I've heard from Georgia Tech, Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. They all want me to come to their Junior Days. I intend to be at all of them."

How did your high school season end up?

"It ended up good. We didn't make the playoffs. I finished the season really strong."

When looking for the right school to go to, what things are you looking for?

"How safe the campus, the academics, is and what will I get out of it when I get there. Those are important."

Now that your recruiting has really heated up, do you know when you'd like to be done with the process?

"I'd say the beginning of my senior year or towards the end of it."

Do you have a current favorite or list of top schools?

"I'm looking into all of it. I have a couple of favorites; Florida, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Alabama, those schools."
