Pat Martin – Profile

Who is recruiting you right now?

"It's mainly the ACC, Alabama, LSU, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Georgia. Georgia Tech is the main one"

Of these schools, who would you say is recruiting you the hardest?

"I'd say Georgia Tech and Alabama."

Do you have offers yet?

"Not yet, I think Georgia Tech and Alabama are close. Michigan could be close, too."

Were you able to make the Georgia Tech-Georgia game on Saturday?

"No, I couldn't. I didn't have a ride. But I was at Georgia Tech for the North Carolina game."

How was that visit?

"It was good. I talked to Coach Dave Wommack after the game and he said they are really interested in me. I toured the weight room and the players' lounge. I got to talk with Morgan Burnett a good bit, too."

Have you made any other recent visits or have any future plans?

"No I haven't made any other visits. I was invited the U.S. Army combine coming up. I'm going to that for sure."

What factors are most important to you when looking for the right school?

"My relationship with the coaches, playing time, and who I'm most comfortable with really. Oh, and academics, too. That's really important."

Do you have a favorite yet?

"I'm trying to look at all my options, but my favorite is Georgia Tech."

What stands out to you about Georgia Tech?

"They have the best academics. I saw where one out of like every four graduates is a millionaire. I would also have a good chance to play in a BCS game. That's really big. It's close to home, too. All my family and coaches would be able to come watch me play. It's only two and a half hours away."

How did your high school season end up?

"We lost in the second round of the playoffs. I had a good season with eighty five tackles, two interceptions with one I returned for a defensive touchdown, and I forced a couple of fumbles."

With recruiting about to heat up, have you thought about a timetable for when you'd like to have the process over with?

"Probably be done by the time my senior year starts."
