Kaleb Johnson - "It Was a Very Good trip"

Kaleb Johnson, offensive lineman from Ed White High School in Jacksonville, FL was a visitor at Georgia Tech for the annual game against Georgia. This was Kaleb's second trip to Atlanta. He was previously in Atlanta for Tech's summer camp. Kaleb got a chance to talk with coaches and confirms that Georgia Tech is one of the schools he is interested in giving a verbal commitment to next year.

Did you make the visit to Georgia Tech Saturday?

"Yes sir I sure did. I really enjoyed the trip despite the outcome of the game. It was a very good trip for me."

What did you get to do while you were there on Saturday?

"We got there and went to Yellow Jacket Alley. That was very good. There were fans every where supporting the Jackets and wishing the recruits would come to Georgia Tech. The fans really made the atmosphere fantastic for the game. I liked the game at night as the surrounding area of the stadium was good to see at night."

What else did you get to do?

"I had a chance to tour some of the facilities, talk with some coaches, and go out onto the field during warm-ups. I enjoyed being out there during warm-ups."

What coaches did you talk to and what did they have to say?

"I talked with Coach Sewak and Coach Spencer. They told me all about what Georgia Tech is and stands for and what to expect if I came there. They said they really wanted me at Georgia Tech and told me what I had to do to come to Georgia Tech. They were very helpful and got me the information I needed about Georgia Tech."

What did you think of the game?

"It was a good game despite the ending. The crowd was really crazy wild and really behind Georgia Tech. That was the best crowd I have seen."

Is Georgia Tech one of the schools you are really interested in?

"Yes sir very much indeed. I really like everything I have seen concerning Georgia Tech. I like how the campus is set in downtown Atlanta and it is a very, very nice campus."

Do you have any offers right now?

"I have an offer from Rutgers and I was told from the Illinois coaches that I should be expecting an offer from them."

What are some of the schools that are recruiting you hard right now?

Georgia Tech, Rutgers, and Florida State are the ones that are really sending me stuff and giving me calls the most."

Do you have a leader at this early pint in your recruiting?

"No sir not all as it is very early in my recruitment. I mean I haven't really given it much thought as to what schools I want to attend for the Junior Days early next year."

What does you off season look for you now that football is over?

"I will hit the weight room hard to get myself in better shape and get stronger. I will also start wrestling this year to gain more flexibility and better conditioning."

How did you football season go?

We went 8-3 overall and lost in the first round of the play-offs to Tallahassee Lincoln."

How do you feel you played this year?

"I feel I had a great year playing quick guard on our team."

Is that the main position you play on the line?

"I have played at all positions on the line and I feel that I can come in play any of them equally well."

What are your measurables?

"I am 6' 4" and weigh 275 pounds and have been clocked at a 5 flat forty."

Kaleb had a great time Saturday and really enjoyed interacting with the players and other recruits. This was his second trip to Atlanta from Florida and he seems to like it better than the time before. He likes the way the campus is set up and likes the game day atmosphere at Georgia Tech. He is hoping that he will be able to make more visits to Georgia Tech in the future as Tech is a school of great interest.
