Charles Perkins - In-Home Visit

Collins Hill's running back Charles Perkins had some in-home visitors tonight. Coach Paul Johnson and Coach Brian Bohannon of Georgia Tech came by for an in home visit. Charles talked with about the visit, his plans to enroll early, and his senior year of high school.

How do you feel your senior year of high school went?

"It went very good. I had over 1,700 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns. I also had over 300 yards receiving out of the backfield too. It was a good season."

I understand you had some visitors tonight?

"Yes sir, Coach Johnson and Coach Bohannon from Georgia Tech came by for their in-home visit with me. We had a good talk and I enjoyed the visit very much."

What did the coaches have to say to you?

"They talked about my academics and what to expect at Georgia Tech academically. They talked about life at Tech in general as well. They asked if I had any academic questions in addition to any football questions I had."

Speaking of football questions, have they told you where you will play in the backfield?

"They said I pretty much can start anywhere in the backfield. They said I will most likely start out A Back and eventually move to B Back down the line. I'm just looking forward to getting there and getting ready to play."

I understand you will be enrolling in January?

"Yes sir January 11th I will be at Georgia Tech. I know that Isaiah Johnson and BJ Bostic will be two of my three roommates to start out in the spring."

Since you and Denzel are such good friends do you foresee you and him being roommates come summer or fall?

"Yes sir I think we will be roommates once he gets on campus. We have become real good friends over this recruiting process so I can see us becoming roommates at Tech."

Did the coaches give you any ideas as to what to expect for your official visit this weekend?

"Yes sir we will check into the Tech hotel. My Mom, Dad, and little sister will be coming up for the visit with me. We are going to assigned a player host and then go to the team banquet on Friday. We will get tours of the campus; see the football facilities, academic facilities and all the things Georgia Tech has to offer the students while they are there. We will get to hang out with the current players and the other recruits that are coming in together. We will get to stay Friday and Saturday night at the hotel and leave on Sunday."

Dale's Take: Charles was in a bit of a hurry as he was talking as he was heading to the gym to work out. He is very excited about getting a head start on his Tech career by enrolling early. He also mentioned that he heard Demaryius "BayBay" Thomas is coming back and feels that will be a great advantage for Tech next year having him as a dominate receiver to go along with the slew of running backs Tech can trot out onto the field. Charles is very excited about his choice of Georgia Tech and is looking for big things to continue and even get better under Coach Johnson. Top Stories
