Your presence underneath helped set the tone for the game defensively?

How do you feel you're developing?
"I've gotten adjusted to the ACC play. I'm a lot more comfortable with it now. I feel like I'm making a good transition."
It had to feel good knocking down the outside shot?
"I've been working on it a lot in the gym so I thought I'd show it off a little bit."

"It inspired me. You grow up playing against them and now in college. You know their game and they know your game. It' competitive, I enjoy going against them."
You picked up the rebounding edge in the second half?
"We just tried to make a statement that we weren't going to let them get anymore rebounds. We boxed out and either the bigs were going to get it or the guards were going to come down and get the rebound."
What are you most comfortable with now?
"I've been lifting weights and it's been a big help to me. It's helped going up against the big guys establishing my box-out position. I've gotten a lot stronger."
How was it going against Al-Farouq Aminu tonight?
"He's a good player. I think he's the leading rebounder in the ACC. It was a good matchup and a good challenge. I think we did our job against him."
What kind of adjustment have you made to stay out of foul trouble?
"I've been getting better defensive position and I haven't been reaching too much and making dumb fouls. I've been making better decisions. If I don't have you, I don't have you. If I see that I have a chance to block it, I go and block it."
It seems the team is becoming more physical as the year goes on?
"It comes from lifting weights two or three times a week. We have our bodies in better shape. We're out there pushing the other team around now."

You had an early foul. What went through your mind?
"I just said that I have to play smart. I picked up the second foul before the first timeout and I laid off a little bit but not too much.

When you come out to the high post it seems to open up the offense more?
"I guess at the beginning of the season they saw that I wasn't making any shots. They decided to sag off me and play down on Gani. They weren't afraid of the high-low pass. I've been spending hours in the gym working on my jump shot. It's paying off now."
