Albany's Tony Zenon is the newest backfield weapon for Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson. The 5'8", 156-pound back out of Deerfield-Windsor High will join Tech's potent offense as an A-back for the Class of 2010. Tony announced his commitment following his official visit to GT this weekend.

Tony Zenon - Profile

How was your official visit?
"It went good. My parents and myself had a good time while we were in Atlanta. My mom essentially loved the academics and coaches at Georgia Tech."

Who was your player host?
My player hosts were running back Roddy Jones and linebacker Kyle Jackson. I really hit it off with Roddy and I really like Kyle a lot too."

When did you decide to commit?
"I decided Saturday afternoon after the tour and talking with the coaches and current players. We toured everything and there was nothing I didn't like."

Why did you commit Georgia Tech on Saturday?
"Like I told you before it has been a dream of mine to play for Georgia Tech but the biggest reason I committed on Saturday afternoon is that my parents loved the visit and the fact they loved the Georgia Tech visit and school as a whole was a big reason I decided as well."

Do you have any special event planned for National Signing Day?
"The coaches gave me my letter of intent to take home with me and I will fax it in early Wednesday morning but my coach and parents have a function planned after school."

Dale's Take:

He was a little disappointed when he did not get the Tech offer when the coaches made their in-home visit last week however he was very excited to be invited for his official visit. When he was finally offered he wanted to commit on the spot but he wanted to talk it over with his parents first since they had played such a big role in his recruitment. Their feedback made it easy for the final decision to be made. Top Stories
