Keep An Eye On Kiefer

Chattahoochee offensive lineman, Matt Kiefer, Class of 2011, made he first Junior Day visit. Kiefer chose Georgia Tech to make that first visit.

What did you think about your Junior Day experience?

"It was great! I guess I hadn't seen much of the Tech facilities before, and I came away very impressed. They have really nice facilities. I got to spend some time with Coach (Todd) Spencer and had lunch with Coach Paul Johnson.

How's the recruiting going?

"I've gotten written offers from Ole Miss and East Carolina and continue to hear from other schools, like Duke, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Tennessee, and Arkansas."

You said you probably won't make a final decision until next season. What's keeping you busy these days?

"I'm working out 6-7 times a week doing weight training and next week we start speed and agility drills."

Can you tell your hard work is paying off?

"Yes sir. I'm now up to 287 pounds (260 last time we talked) and still 6'4"."

It sounds like you're putting in some quality time at the dinner table?

"Yes sir. I guess you could say that."

After this visit, where does Tech stand on your list?

"I think they have an awesome program and if I was lucky enough to get a written offer, I'd certainly seriously consider it."

Will you be attending any camps this summer?

"I haven't committed to any summer camps, but Georgia Tech is certainly a possibility. I'd also consider going to Duke and Virginia, if I get the opportunity." Top Stories
