Nick recently visited the Georgia Tech campus with some other recruits to watch the Tech-North Carolina (basketball) game. "I enjoyed the game and got to sit with Coach (Paul) Johnson." The conversation wasn't strictly about football as they also talked about basketball. This wasn't Marshall's first time with Johnson. The two had previously talked when Coach Johnson visited his school.
Marshall is considering playing both basketball and football at the next level. After his AAU basketball season, Nick first heard from Arkansas, Florida State and Georgia. Since then he's also gotten offers from Alabama, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. Nick has also met with Georgia Tech Coach Paul Hewitt in addition to his meetings with Johnson. Marshall will be able to play both sports with these offers.
Nick currently doesn't have a preference between the two sports. "I like them both." In making his decision it is important that he'll be able to play both. Location is another factor that will play a role in his decision.
Nick is still playing basketball for his high school team. He recently scored 43 points as Wilcox County continues to advance in the Georgia state playoffs. The win over Greenville gave them the regional title. His high for the year has been 48 points.
Marshall is not ready to name any favorites and hasn't planned any visits as he's currently concentrating on the state basketball playoffs in hopes of making it to the Macon Centreplex. He is planning on making a June decision.
