Jonathan Battle - The Waiting Game

Jonathan Battle is playing the difficult role of the waiting game. The 6'1" 280 pound defensive tackle, a junior at Americus (GA) Sumter High School, doesn't have much choice.

Jonathan Battle - Profile

Battle and teammate Kyle Champion both attended Georgia Tech's Junior Day in January. Since then, Jonathan has kept in touch with Coach Charles Kelly. While he doesn't have an offer he hopes one is coming. "He has been encouraging about one possibly coming," said Battle. "We'll see."

The trip to Georgia Tech's Junior Day is not the only development in Battle's recruitment. Jonathan and Champion both visited Athens for Georgia's Junior Day and he has just received his first offer from Louisville. Battle has not made any plans to visit Louisville but may visit them sometime in the future.

Other schools are also taking a look at Battle. "I've been hearing from Alabama and coaches from Auburn and North Carolina State have been to my school."

Battle has been busy rehabbing his knee. "I was just at the doctor's and he says things are coming along," said Battle. "He wants me to get more motion." It looks like it will be a few more weeks before Battle can start working out.

It appears that the schools recruiting Battle are waiting to see how his rehab progresses. Battle is waiting to see how things come together. "I'm very interested in Georgia Tech." A positive report on Battle's knee will have schools like Tech, Alabama, Auburn, and North Carolina State possibly following Louisville's lead. Top Stories
