Clarke Central High School's Martay Mattox received his third offer recently from the Maryland Terrapins. Maryland joins South Florida and South Carolina for those that have big time interest in the quarterback.
Mattox said Maryland's quarterback coach gave him the news and that they are recruiting him as a quarterback. "The Maryland offer was a surprise," Mattox said. "It kind of caught me off guard. But I was very happy to hear from them and am very excited to see what they have to offer."
As for visits, he wasn't able to get to Tennessee a couple weeks ago. He does plan on getting up to Maryland in a couple weeks to get a good look at them. Mattox currently has no other spring plans.
Georgia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, and Clemson are a few schools keeping tabs on Martay that haven't offered yet. Look for his recruitment to pick up later this spring or in the summer as he will be graduating early and could decide at some point in the summer.
