Camp MVP Gets GT Offer

Pepperell High School offensive lineman Kyle Harris had a very rewarding day Friday on his trip to Atlanta. Kyle was named the top offensive lineman at the MVP Camp held on Georgia Tech's campus and following the camp he picked up his fifth offer from Georgia Tech.

Kyle Harris went up against some of the top defensive linemen today and his performance led to his being named the top offensive lineman. "It was a great time," said Harris. "We all had a lot of fun and I even came away with the top offensive lineman from the camp." Harris was 7-0 in the one-on-one drills. "At the end of the camp they had me go against the best defensive lineman and I won the battle."

Following the camp, Harris made the short walk to the Georgia Tech football offices and met with Coach Paul Johnson. "I talked with Coach Johnson and he offered me a scholarship." The Tech coaches liked what they saw on film but wanted to look at his academic work first. "When they found out how well I was doing, Coach Johnson offered me." Harris also talked with Brian Bohannon; his recruiting coach and Todd Spencer; his position coach.

While he was there today, Harris got to see some of the campus and really liked what he saw. "I know when I come back, I will take a full tour of the campus." Harris plans on returning sometime this spring for practice and also for the spring game.

The offer from Tech Friday brings his total offers to five. Cincinnati, Louisville, Maryland, and Syracuse are the other four that have offered. "I'm also hearing from Florida State, Georgia, and Mississippi State."

Harris has one camp planned for the summer. "I will be going to the Georgia camp on June 12 but for now that is about it."

Kyle considers his recruitment wide open right now. He'll be looking at early playing time as one of the factors in making his decision. "I also want to have that home feeling when I'm on campus." Harris especially liked the fact that Georgia Tech was only 90 miles from home. "It felt good being on the campus." Top Stories
