The brothers have been traveling together on recruiting visits but they don't consider themselves as a package deal. "We've certainly talked about opportunities and usually travel together, but we've also discussed a scenario where we may split up, if one situation better suits one of us than the other," said Tanner.
The brothers trip to Georgia Tech was a good one. "It was a lot of fun watching the practice," said Tyler. "I got a chance to meet Coach (Andy) McCollum." McCollum has been Tyler's primary contact at Georgia Tech. He also had a chance to talk to some of the players who were from rival high schools in their area. "They answered a lot of my questions about recruiting."
Tanner spent the practice watching the linebackers and afterward enjoyed talking to some of the players. "I got really pumped up about their defense. Both brothers expect to be seeing Coach McCollum when they begin their spring practices. "Coach McCollum said he's spending a lot of time trying to get to know all the recruits including us," said Tyler.
Both Tyler and Tanner have taken other visits besides the one to Georgia Tech. "We went to South Carolina in February for their Junior Day," said Tyler. They got to meet Coach Shane Beamer. They've also been to Georgia for a visit.
The next trip for the brothers will be to a Nike Camp in Gainesville, FL. The camp will take place on April 18th. "That should be fun," said Tanner.
Both are staying in shape in the off season by playing lacrosse for Peachtree Ridge. They're also doing some weight training and conditioning.
