Chamberlain is a Jacket!

Monroe High School (Albany, GA) offensive lineman Bryan Chamberlain attended Georgia Tech's Junior Day back in January and they've been his leader ever since. He ended his recruitment last night with a phone call to the Tech coaches.

"Recruiting has been coming along great," said Chamberlain. "I talked with the coaches at Georgia Tech last night and gave them my verbal commitment." Bryan talked to Coach Todd Spencer who asked him what he didn't like about Georgia Tech. "I thought for a minute or so and couldn't come up with anything that I did not like." When Spencer heard that he suggested to Chamberlain that he commit. "I thought some more and it really made sense and I told him that I would be giving him my verbal."

It's easy to see that Coach Spencer had a big influence in Chamberlain's decision. "I can't tell you how much I like Coach Spencer," said Chamberlain. "He likes to joke around but he is one of the most positive coaches I have ever seen and he gave Tech a big advantage in my recruitment." Bryan also likes that Coach Spencer reminds him of his high school coach.

After giving the news to Coach Spencer, Chamberlain had a chance to talk to Coach Paul Johnson. "He said he was very happy to have me at Georgia Tech." Chamberlain and Coach Johnson talked about what it means to be a student and football player at Georgia Tech. They also talked about Coach Johnson's no visit rule following a commitment. "I fully understand and support that rule of his."

Coach Mike Sewak told Bryan that he would start him out at center but that he could play at any line position that would be best for him and the team. "That is not a problem as long as I get to contribute to the team." Chamberlain plays left tackle for his high school team and feels that he would probably move to a position other than center.

Chamberlain is glad that he was able to get recruiting out of the way this early. "It feels especially good since I am going to a school that I really love." Chamberlain plans on majoring in business or finance. He likes the fact that Tech has a good business school. "The pressure is off me and I will let everyone know that I am 100% committed to Georgia Tech." Top Stories
