Tuitt Returns to Tech

Monroe, Georgia defensive end Stephon Tuitt made another appearance at Georgia Tech's practice today. Tuitt was on campus last Friday for the MVP Camp and Tech's practice and today made a return visit.

Stephon Tuitt - Profile

Tuitt had a chance to take a closer look at Tech's new 3-4 defense. "It went really well," said Tuitt. "I really like the intensity that the players have and the way they interact with the coaches." While at practice Stephon had a chance to meet a lot of the players and talk with the coaches.

One of the players that he's gotten to know is wide receiver Stephen Hill. "I've gotten to know Stephen and most of the defensive line." Tuitt has become friends with them and they have formed a bond.

Tuitt has also formed that same bond with the coaches. "I like joking around with Coach (Todd) Spencer." Stephon has also formed that bond with Coaches Charles Kelly, Brian Bohannon and Andy McCollum. "I like their staff."

Tuitt has a high opinion of Georgia Tech. "I like the way they stress how important academics are to the players and I like the campus and the way it is set up in downtown Atlanta but you don't feel like you are in a big city."

Following his visit to Tech, Tuitt will be heading to Athens for their G-Day and then the following weekend he'll be heading to Auburn for their spring game. "I know it is the same day as the one at Georgia Tech and while I'd like to go to Tech's spring game, I haven't been to Auburn at all so this is a chance to see them."

Tuitt currently has 13 offers from schools in the ACC, Big 10, Big East, and the SEC. Out of those 13 Tuitt has a top five. "In no particular order they are Georgia Tech, Florida, Clemson, Georgia, and Notre Dame."

Stephon is currently 6'5"-255 and is playing defensive end. "I am being recruited to play defensive end by all schools no matter what defense they play." He as run a 4.9 forty which suits him for that position.

Tuitt is looking at a few factors in selecting a school. "I know the school I go to will have a degree that means something and carries weight in the business world." Tuitt also wants to feel at home on campus and wants to get along with the coaches and players. "I will make my decision after my senior season ends." Top Stories
