The 6'3"-260 Tomlinson visited Georgia Tech's Junior Day Saturday with teammate Stephon Brown. "It went very well," said Tomlinson. "I went up to check out the college and see what Georgia Tech has to offer both athletically and academically."
Tomlinson watched the morning scrimmage on his visit. "I got a good chance to see how they run both their offensive and defense." Tomlinson was interested in seeing how they got after it with their new defense. "The scrimmage was very good and intense." Tomlinson also had a chance to see the locker room, players lounge and was impressed with the weight room. "I had a great time up there."
Dalvin had a chance to talk to Coach Johnson about Georgia Tech. "He talked about what Georgia Tech stands for both from the football side and the academic side", Dalvin. "He said he was very interested in me as a player and a student." Tomlinson was encouraged to keep his grades up and to continue to play good football. Tech is looking at Tomlinson as a defensive end. "He said if I continue working in the classroom and on the field and offer would be there for me when the time comes."
Tomlinson was impressed with what he saw of the campus. "I like the way the college life is there and the people go out of their way to make you feel at home." Dalvin was surprised by the number of social activities, by the number of things going on and the number of things to do. "I really could see myself fitting in there if I decided to go to Georgia Tech."
Dalvin plans on making a return visit this summer and he'll probably attend some of the games during the fall. "I do know I'd like to come back." He'll also be going to Auburn on June 5th for a camp and then to Athens for a camp at Georgia.
Even though he's in the class of 2012, he's already getting a lot of interest. "The teams recruiting me are mostly ACC and SEC." Georgia is recruiting him very hard and Tech is also turning up their recruitment of Tomlinson. "Right now they are both equal in my eyes as it is a long way until I have to decide."
