SW Guilford (NC) quarterback Airyn Willis traveled to Atlanta this past weekend to visit Georgia Tech for their Junior Day and scrimmage. Airyn left Georgia Tech with a very high view of the team and the school.

Airyn Willis - Profile

The 6'2" Willis is an athlete that can play multiple positions. He is being recruited as a quarterback by Georgia Tech. As a junior, Willis recorded 23 tackles and three interceptions as a safety, rushed for 681 yards and 11 touchdowns in five games as running back, and 36 receptions for 581 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver.

Georgia Tech is one of eight schools that have offered Airyn. He also has offers from East Carolina, Louisville, North Carolina State, South Florida, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The trip went well for Willis and he really enjoyed his time at Tech. "I got a chance to do the usual Junior Day stuff like tour the campus and talk with the coaches." Willis had been told ahead of time about the campus and it was exactly as he'd been told. "I was able to talk to Coach (Paul) Johnson and the other coaches while I was there."

Willis was told that he was one of Georgia Tech's top quarterback prospects for the signing class. "They told me how much they liked my play and how much they wanted me there." Willis enjoyed the trip so much he'll be returning to Atlanta on the 24th for their spring game. Airyn has been talking to Coach (Andy) McCollum and Coach (Todd) Spencer during the recruiting process. The trip to Georgia Tech has made them Willis' leader. "I'm not ready to make a commitment just yet but they are my leader right now."

Willis has plans to take all five of his official visits before committing to a school. "I don't know what schools other than Georgia Tech that will be getting official visits but I think I will make all five before I make my commitment." Willis is in no rush to make his decision.
